We are working in the Puri and Khordha districts of Odisha with poor mentally challenged children affected by epilepsy. These children suffer from regular bouts of fits and do not step out of the home. Being physically weak they are mostly bed-ridden. Most of them do not go to school and are even considered mentally retarded. When given medicines, they become physically stronger. Slowly they start going out and playing with their peers. Their social interaction increases, which help them live a normal life like other children.
