Vikash is involved with strengthening community health systems. It organizes health camps for early diagnosis and increased access to Government Health Services. It facilitates immunization by organizing awareness camps.
It has facilitated establishment of a Auxiliary Nursing and Midwives (ANM) training center to increase birth attendance by professional hands. The institution is running in a sustainable manner and is being managed by a professional body. In the year 2005, 25 students completed the course successfully.
Traditional Health Care:
Vikash has been promoting traditional health care, which is widely practiced and accepted. In the interior hilly areas the indigenous community primarily depend on traditional health care practitioners. Vikash promotes studies on traditional practices. It also takes up training for the traditional practioners.
